To win the William Jackson Food Group Charity Challenge climbing Snowdon!

Project by BELAZU FOUNDATION

The Belazu team will be climbing Mount Snowdon on 26th September to raise money for the Belazu Foundation as part of the William Jackson Food Group charity challenge! The business that raises the most money will receive an additional donation from WJFG.

The Belazu Foundation supports food and educational projects for children and families in UK and around the Mediterranean to promote education and healthy eating to inspire future generations. Founded in 2003, The Belazu Foundation was born out of a desire to give back to the communities we work with, both at home and abroad. We are proud to work collaboratively with other partners and charities including The Zakoura Foundation, School Food Matters, Chefs in Schools, and more!

Children spend around 1,200 hours in school every year and many millions rely on school meals for vital nutrition. With the threshold of free school meal eligibility as a joint household income of less than £7,400 per year in the UK, over 800,000 children are experiencing food poverty as they are not eligible.

Since 2003, the Belazu Foundation has committed over £235k to the Zakoura Foundation and supported over 15 projects to support children into preschool education in rural areas of Morocco. We currently support Tidli and Aurorir pre-schools in the Marrakesh-Safi region of the Atlas Mountains. After the earthquake in 2023, many children are still living and studying in tents which is significantly impacting their education.

£100 will way for internet connection for one year, £800 will provide stationary and resources for 57 children and £3600 will enable Zakoura to pay for a teacher's salary for a year in the Auorir village.
