Sleaford Town community Hub

The aim of this project is to build a community hub at the heart of sleaford town. A building has become available that will allow to cover a number of issues effecting the town. Issue 1: The majority of the buildings are owned by the same UK company who use the sites to rent out at over priced amounts. In a small town this is not viable and increased our high streets decline. Using this building we will set up an indoor market area at reduced rental prices to help kickstart new businesses and allow them to build them up therefore reducing the risk of failure. Issue 2: Being a historical town many of the buildings are small or office based meaning that limited site can be used for entertainment purposes. This has caused the issue of kids and young adults having nothing to do in the town resulting in them committing crimes and trouble. Along with the market area the building will be used to create an arcade/entertainment area to provide a space where where they can spend time and pocket money keeping themselves occupied in a controlled environment helping to reduce crime and trouble caused by kids. Issue 3: Since the pandemic a number of businesses have closed down and unemployment has sky rocketed. High skilled jobs have come to our area but the population living here do not have the required skills. The town used to have a college facility that was provide from a nearby city. However they pulled out leaving sleaford without an education facility for over 18's. Using the funding gained from the ground floor Sleaford college would be reborn and allow us to teach people new skills, provide confidence/team building and career guidance. Once set up the building will be self sufficient with the ground floor generating the funding to keep the education facility going making the chances of the economic situation preventing the project to remain.
