Yes I'm petrified of heights, but it's my 40th year of being a Type 1 diabetic so i want to do something mad!!

by Emma Wicks in Lowestoft, England, United Kingdom

I'm taking on an exciting challenge to raise money for Diabetes UK by completing a skydive on June 7th at Ellough Airfield in Beccles. As you may know, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when i was 4 years old and I will be celebrating my 40th Diaversary this year.

Diabetes is a lifelong condition that I've managed throughout childhood, hormonal teenage years and pregnancies.  Enduring millions of blood tests, endless anxiety of carbohydrates and insulin ratios and hundreds of hospital appointments, life for  a Diabetic is HARD! The invaluable support from James Paget Hospital and Diabetes UK has been significant and their research is so important for the millions of people that are affected by Diabetes. Furthermore, I am absolutely petrified of heights (mad I know!).

Please consider making a donation and helping me reach my fundraising goal! No amount is too small, and every contribution will be greatly appreciated. Together, we can help make a positive impact in the fight against diabetes.
