Aim: We're building Sri Lanka’s first skatepark to empower youth through skateboarding, creativity & community. Help us make it happen!

Our mission: roll forward with purpose 🛹

Sk8 Lanka is a non-profit initiative dedicated to bringing the joy, flow and camaraderie of skate culture to young people across Sri Lanka.

Our mission is to empower kids and youths by providing free skate lessons, access to quality equipment and a welcoming skatepark - all at no cost. The skate movement has the transformative power to build confidence and spark a new way of seeing and experiencing the world - nurtured by creativity, resilience and the courage to just send it! 🤙

  • 100% of proceeds from tourist entry and public sessions go directly toward funding free skateboarding access, coaching, and gear for underserved kids and youth in the region....

With the support of our partner, SkateAid Germany, a respected European skateboarding charity with over a decade of experience - we’re constructing Sri Lanka’s first full-size skatepark, covering more than 400m².

Our first project is based at Sudantha Mihalaya School in Ballaketuwala, where Phase 1 - the construction of a mini ramp, supported by Skateaid Germany, has been completed.

The skatepark will be supported by volunteers who not only introduce kids to the sport, but also teach safe practices and cultivate a space for learning and play.

We're also working to expand our reach by partnering with more schools across the district to build additional skate ramps!

Community impact

SK8 Demos at Local Schools. Click 4 YouTube Short!

This project goes deeper than merely building a physical space, it creates a place where kids can simply be kids. It strengthens community cohesion and encourages friendships across generations.

In an area with few dedicated places to play, the skatepark offers young people the freedom to move and connect in ways that are stimulating and fun. In an area where opportunities can be limited, our project aims to inspire growth through being bold, learning and sharing of new skills and creative self-expression.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We’re currently raising funds to complete a skate ring with a flat run and transitions around the mini ramp, train local volunteers, and begin rolling out further initiatives across other regions.

If you'd like to support this project, your contribution will go directly towards materials, infrastructure, and programming to ensure long-term sustainability.
