Aim: I'm swimming from Albania to Corfu to raise funds for local marine conservation projects in the Ionian Islands!
I’m Simon, Executive Director of the Ionian Environment Foundation and someone who believes that protecting the sea starts with action.
In 2024, I took part in Albania Overboard, swimming 3 km to raise funds for local marine conservation. With incredible support, we raised over €45,000 for grassroots initiatives, from protecting dolphins and monk seals to supporting sustainable sailing initiatives.
This year, I’m swimming again, not just as a personal challenge, but as a call for urgent action to protect the fragile beauty of the Ionian Sea. The threats are real: pollution, overfishing, habitat loss. But so is the impact we can make when we work together.
Every euro raised goes directly to local projects creating real change, in the water, on the coast, and in the communities that depend on them.
