Hi there! I'm Kevin, and just over a year ago, I went from 10 years in a stable, salaried job that I loved to… being made redundant. But rather than curl up and cling to LinkedIn, I decided to go all in on a dream: creating a vibrant co-working and community space in the heart of Summertown. Enter "The Cluster".
Oh, and before I go any further, I should explain why you have a photo of myself with my 24-year-old cat, Joey and her 'I put up with him cos he feeds me' smile. She's ancient, grumpy, and not at all impressed with my career choices - but apparently, she helps people stay engaged! She’s basically my business advisor, and frankly, the most judgmental co-founder anyone could ask for. So stay tuned for cat content alongside our community-building journey!
Where was I, yes... Setting up The Cluster, it wasn’t just about filling desks; it was about creating a home-away-from-home for people tired of staring at the same walls day after day. I found an incredible space - an old slaughterhouse - and threw myself into transforming it. Long days, even longer nights, and a very steep learning curve later, we’ve turned this building into a welcoming, quirky, and buzzing space.
Beyond Desks: The Bengal Street Food Café & Community Events
Now, The Cluster is more than just a place to work. It’s also home to our beloved Bengal street food café, "The Meet Point Coffee". Yes, you can get work done and indulge in the best spicy snacks Summertown has ever seen! We’re building a real community here with regular events, workshops, and meet-ups to bring people together, network (though that word makes us shudder), and, let’s be honest, vent about the work-from-home life.
Why We Need Your Help: The Quiet Pod
While The Cluster’s open, lively environment is a huge draw, our members have one small request - a space for peace and privacy. Whether it's a client call, a few focused hours on a big project, or just a quick escape, our Quiet Pod will be a sanctuary where Cluster members (our “Clustomers”) can breathe, focus, and recharge.
I'm running on a shoestring budget, and I’ve stretched every pound to make The Cluster what it is today. But I need your help to create this dedicated quiet space. Every bit you contribute will go toward purchasing the smartest and best value meeting booth I can lay my hands on.
