We're still collecting donations

On the 2nd May 2024 we'd raised £1,365 with 30 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Keeping hold of our Green seats and our hard-working councillors and continuing to grow is vital to Sheffield Greens.

Will you help?

Financial contributions towards the cost of leaflets are essential so that we can run the best campaign possible. The campaign leaflets cost around £15,000 and we rely on donations to get the Green message out! We don't have the luxury of wealthy donors and unions like the other parties.

This year, Greens in Sheffield have been very busy.

We have successfully campaigned for the re-instatement of the no 10 bus, welcomed the Supertram coming back into public ownership and kept people informed about changes to bus timetables

Greens have led initiatives to help with the cost of living by providing new advice services and have supported new welcome hubs

We have spoken up for residents about planning and licensing decisions and always continue to push for better infrastructure to help people getting about on buses, trams, walking and cycling.

Greens have supported innovative climate mitigation measures like natural flood management including a feasibility study into re-introducing beavers and new sustainable urban drainage (SUDs) schemes. We've also worked on the city's nature recovery strategy to improve biodiversity.

We successfully proposed free public transport in the weeks leading up to Christmas and have been supporting our local independent businesses  by encouraging people to shop local.

Greens have been clear and consistent in our calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and a solution based on a lasting peace and ending the occupation. Our motion to Sheffield Council was passed in November and since than has been replicated all over the country.

We have spoken out about proposals to penalise vulnerable people, when they should be helped and welcomed new responsible advertising restrictions across the city.

As ever, our councillors have taken on casework for residents, dealing with hundreds of reports of fly-tipping and rubbish and housing repairs. They have also helped parents with school appeals and spoken out about the lack of funding for schools and given school children the opportunity to visit the Town Hall and learn about local democracy.

Greens support their local community organisations, youth groups, activists, faith groups and Tenants and Residents Associations (TARAs).

Our members and councillors are working hard in our communities to help make Sheffield a fairer and greener city. But we can't do this without your support!

Thank you for any donation you are able to give, it makes a huge difference.
