The Story

When your homeland has been ravaged by war and you risk persecution, what choice do you have, but to leave? It is estimated that more than 50 million displaced people worldwide are fleeing conflict, poverty or persecution. Many embark on dangerous journeys in a bid for survival...

The Project

Shamas is a short film set in England and taking place against the backdrop of a mass refugee crisis. Amongst the chaos and uncertainty of what lies ahead, is one young man who must question his own humanity when his need to survive takes precedence. How far is he willing to go?

The film will be shot in Oxfordshire at locations including Didcot Railway Centre and involves a talented team of diverse young filmmakers who have come together to realise this project to its fullest potential.
