My old Epiphone SG meant the world to me, after writing two albums on it (only one of which is finally being released) the memories it held are special and one of the only things that saved my experience of uni.
I played my first gig with it, joined my first band, learnt my first metal riffs and it helped me through many a sleepless night. I don’t know what I’d do without it and now that it’s gone and my already drained bank account is suffering under the new weight of life post university, I am struggling to make a new future for myself back in Hereford.
My plan originally was to use my guitar to create a new band for myself and reconnect Herefords local music scene by promoting other local artists/putting people together with similar interests and to bring alt music to the Shire by putting on my own gigs, and gigs for bands in the surrounding area. However I am already struggling for a startup fund for that business and have recently had my guitar stolen (with no evidence) so essentially lost not just my guitar, but my coat and my guitar case as well. This means that unfortunately the dream is slipping ever further and further away.
I don’t like asking for help, and especially don’t like asking for money but I can’t ask my parents for anything more after sponging off them for four years whilst struggling my way through uni in covid, so my dad suggested a just giving page.
Whilst there’s no pressure for anyone to give anything and I don’t think I will ever be able to pay anyone back for this act of kindness especially the kindness that you have all shown over the last couple of weeks. However, hopefully one day the gratuity I have will come round as karma for Herefords music scene and the future musicians looking to start their own projects.
