What are we doing?
On the 7th September 2024 the South of England Vaulting Squad are doing a 12 hour Vault-a-thon on our static barrel to raise money for a mechanical barrel.
We will have one vaulter on our static barrel at all times for the whole 12 hours. We will start a 5am and finish at 5pm.
We are inviting you all to join us for the final count down where we will be hosting a fun dog show, vaulting demonstration, vaulting have a go-on the barrel, paint a horse shoe, cake sale and more!
If you would like to come please get in contact for more information.
We will be posting lots of updates on our social media.
Why are we doing this?
In October 2023, Lexi Day founded the South of England Vaulting squad after Vaulting and coaching for the English Vaulting Squad for many years.
She bought her horse Joe with her to start the club but sadly after a month of opening he passed away. This was heartbreaking for the whole team as he was such a special horse that tried his heart out for us all. He was so loved by many.
Since then, we've faced immense challenges without a dedicated training horse. Despite these setbacks, our team has shown incredible resilience and determination. We've trained relentlessly on the barrels.
We have been very lucky with the generosity of other vaulting clubs allowing us to borrow their horses for competitions allowing us to achieve impressive results. Recently, we've been very fortunate to have Goose join our team on loan and he is doing a great job with us training as a vaulting horse.
To fully achieve our potential, we need a mechanical barrel. This essential equipment will allow us to perfect our routines without relying solely on our limited horse power. It will also enable us to train more efficiently and realistically.
Our dream is to compete nationally and internationally, and a mechanical barrel is a crucial step towards achieving this goal.
We are very passionate about our sport as Vaulting is an inclusive sport accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Although an equine discipline you don’t need to own or keep your own horse, making vaulting accessible to many more. By acquiring a mechanical barrel, we can expand our training program to welcome more aspiring vaulters.
Your support will make a huge difference in our team's journey. With your help, we can continue building a strong and successful vaulting club. We are incredibly grateful for any contribution, no matter the size.
Thank you!
