ABOUT US
SETT is a small family run business dedicated to creating mineral sunscreen and natural skin protection products. Our products were originally designed for surfers and water sports enthusiasts but are a great solution for anyone who loves being in the outdoors whether in the water or not.
OUR IDEAS & VISION
1. Customers
To grow our customer base by providing sunscreens for people who love the great outdoors and want to protect the environment as well as their skin. SETT sunscreens don't irritate the skin and are suitable for sensitive skin and children - plus they don't leave you looking like a ghost!
2. Environment
There is absolutely no need to use chemical sunscreens anymore! We want to do our bit to protect the ocean and it's inhabitants so we don't use harsh chemicals that damage coral reefs and harm fish and other aquatic life. This is at the heart of what we do.
3. Improve knowledge about sunscreen
We want to give people the knowledge to make an informed choice about their sunscreen and not just grab the biggest, most well known brand from the shelf in their supermarket or pharmacy.
There's a lot of confusing and conflicting information out there. By creating engaging materials to educate people about why chemical sunscreen is not the best choice, we furnish people with the information they need to make their own choices - hopefully to buy mineral sunscreen (from us!)
4. Zero Waste and the Circular Economy
Last year we made our first foray into zero waste shops with our bulk 5 litre pump containers and refillable, reusable aluminium bottles. They've been really popular and we want to continue to grow in this sector.
Another area we plan to focus on is creating handy sunscreen pouches that customers can return to us for reuse or recycling in exchange for a discount on their next pouch.
HOW WE WILL USE THE MONEY RAISED
The money raised will be used to:
- expand our suite of educational materials
- increase our social media presence and activities
- develop the process whereby customers return used pouches to us and receive discount of their next purchase
- Boost our advertising to encourage people to chose SETT mineral sunscreen over big chemical brands
