SERET International Film Festival celebrates Israeli cinema and culture in the UK. Run by Odelia Haroush and Patty Hochmann, we're an independent, non-political, non-religious charity dedicated to showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of Israeli life through film and television. As we approach our 13th year, we're more committed than ever to illuminating Israeli life and culture through the captivating medium of cinema.
Why Your Support Matters:
In recent months, our festival and partners in the UK and Europe have faced relentless attacks. Antisemitic groups have exerted pressure on cinema houses, threatening boycotts and demanding the cancellation of our festival. Long-standing partners are receiving threats from anti-Israel entities, coercing them to withdraw their support under the threat of ongoing demonstrations and boycotts.
Film is not merely a medium for storytelling; it serves as a lens through which we view culture, offering a platform for dialogue and understanding. The cancellation of a film festival isn't just a loss of entertainment—it's a suppression of cultural exchange and a setback for pluralism and diversity. We refuse to let these voices be silenced. Now, more than ever, we need your support to ensure the continuation and success of the SERET festival.
Your Donation Makes a Difference:
Your generous donation will fund alternative screening spaces and top-tier security measures.
How You Can Help:
Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our £10,000 goal. Your support will not only make the festival possible but also help us improve our programming and expand our reach to cities across the UK.
This is an all or nothing campaign—your support will determine whether the SERET festival becomes a reality.
About Us:
As co-founders of SERET International, we are passionate about showcasing the best of Israeli cinema and fostering cross-cultural understanding. Through our festivals, we aim to inspire dialogue, promote artistic collaboration, and build bridges between communities.
We're excited to share our lineup of award-winning films, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions with esteemed Israeli actors and directors, including Sasson Gabay (Tehran, WeCrashed, The Band's Visit), Raymond Amsalem (Seven Blessings, Rendition, Silent game), Yadin Gelman (Arugam Bay) and more.
Thank you for standing with us in support of Israeli cinema and culture. Together, we can ensure that the show goes on!
