Aim: The aim of our project is to raise money for a Well-being Hub . This hub will provide 24-hour support for margilised communities.

  • Sentinal Care Alliance is an organisation that currently works in collaboration with other community organisations and public services to provided health and social care interventions.

Running workshops and groups in alternative community spaces is great but we dream of acquiring our own purpose built space, somewhere our service user know where they can locate us and that our doors are always open.

The main focus for our community hub is to provide a culturally sensitive space for enthic minority groups that often face much stigma when accessing services. Working in collaboration with the NHS and Local Authorities we hope to be able to offer an alternative to attending hospitals and public offices for our service users  to access vital services. Although the hub will be accessible to everyone there will be focus on ensuring that staff are from multicultural communities, staff are bilingual or access there is access to interpretation and that the staff team have  cultural competency training in order to fully understand and address the needs of the community it serves.

The hub will provide a variety of services during core hours such as workshops, employment training and educational classes, food banks, housing, social care and benefits advise and will also act as an out of hours mental health crisis support space, providing a welcoming environment for people that are experiencing challenges or going into crisis.

Funds will pay for our space, our staffing and overheads for a while allowing us to focus on the work on the ground not the finances

We know there is a need for this service as various members of our team provide these same programmes or projects In alternative areas and colleagues express the need for this kind of provision in South East London.

Unless a particular piece of work has been funded or adhoc requested by a Trust or Local Authority a lot of the events and workshops we deliver are self funded which brings me to "crowdfunder" We are hoping that raising money on crowdfunder we can continue to offer sustainability to these services and create enough data to show stakeholders how invested the community is as a whole for improved quality of care for marginalised communities and our intervention receive reaccuring funding.
