Producing a collection of electronic devices to help people who are neurodivergent or have learning disabilities manage sensory regulation.

I know personally the difference that a series of devices such as these would have made to my self-recognition of sensory needs. I was diagnosed with Autism at age 37, with the other diagnoses either side of that.  I learnt that there were definitive definitions of sensory regulation, and this was not just something I was experiencing, but that it is common (but largely unknown) within people with autism. It can present differently for everyone as with many aspects of autism, meaning that some people are oversensitive to stimuli, whereas others are under-sensitive, and this can vary between different senses for the same person.

Discussions held with many professionals through the course of my work and study,  with schools, health and social care providers through my time as a National Autistic Society group leader, my expert by experience delivery of Oliver McGowan Training on Learning Disabilities and Autism (OMMT), and my undergraduate Health & Social Care degree in the field of Learning Disabilities, and as someone Autistic myself with additional diagnoses of Dyspraxia, Visual Distress and Sensory Processing Disorder, have shown that there is a desire and a need for this as a solution to sensory difficulties, to the extent that they want to know how they can buy one for their business or service provision.
