Toadstool Cottage is the well-used and well-loved sensory room at the Hideaway in Partington. Sadly it's so well used that it's looking a little worse for wear and could really use a freshen up - new flooring, nice cushions and some fantastic new sensory equipment for little ones and those with sensory needs to benefit.
As a charity we operate a donation-based pay what you can entry policy, which means that our sensory room is fully accessible to everyone and no one is excluded by costs. Unfortunately it also means that we don't have enough spare cash to be able to easily upgrade a space like this, and that's why we need your help. We want to create a brilliant space that families can hang out together and children can benefit from some wonderful new equipment.
The Hideaway is a community educational play centre in Partington, which serves its local community, wider borough and families across Greater Manchester with the UK's only Pay What You Can play centre. It not only includes masses of amazing equipment which is loved by children and adults alike, but each week there's a theme with a teaching point and extra crafts, messy play, songs and stories to included to help children learn. Parents are welcome to attend groups and sessions where they can meet other parents and learn together so coming to a centre alone doesn't have to be a lonely experience.
To help families practically, the Hope Centre provides a food pantry, information and advice, a household support fund and much more to ensure that everyone in our community and beyond has easy access to help, friendship and the caring community that help us all to thrive.
