Special Educational Needs (SEN) Family Fun Day.

With additional funds I would like to host this event again during the winter months...
Aim: To provide a free entry afternoon of inclusive workshops & socialising for children & adults with special education needs & their families.
My name is Rastarella and my youngest daughter Abisola was born with a rare chromosome disorder which is a whole life disability. Abi is now almost 15 years old & even though many events say that they are accessible & suitable for all abilities, often they are not catered for those who have complex needs or high care requirements.
So I would love if you could support my vision of hosting an afternoon of workshops followed by socialising and a disco for children & adults who have special educational needs, an event that they can come along with their families/carers and have a wonderful time.
My goal is that all who attend this free event will feel accepted, supported and encouraged to be themselves in a safe & welcoming environment.
I have already been given a space for free hire by the When Women Gather organisation and I have the full support of two of my friends Janet & Jude, who I will be partnering with to create and host this much needed event. I think it will also benefit family members/carers so that they can also socialise & feel less isolated.
The funds raised will be used to cover the costs of free refreshments for all who attend & the hire of specialist equipment we will need to provide for the workshops, chill out area and the family disco.
Everyone involved in the planning and facilitation of this event will be doing it on a voluntary basis. I hope you can help support us and donate what you can. Thank you for reading. One love.
