What is See It, Be It?
Research has shown that young people who have good workplace opportunities such as meeting employers or work experience can have significantly improved life outcomes.
That’s why, Aviva is supporting Sheffield Pride of Place’s ‘See It, Be It’ campaign.
Working with schools across Sheffield, See It Be It brings the world of work to life, aiming to help raise the aspirations of every young person there. This is especially needed in areas of disadvantage and low social mobility.
You will meet with young people to tell them about the world of work, how to access it and how to thrive in it. Ultimately helping them to create the link between education and employment and ensuring they can reach their potential.
Together we can inspire Sheffield’s young people to be tomorrow’s leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

What we are looking for
No specific skill required, the fact that you are an Aviva colleague in Sheffield is enough to make a difference.

What difference this will make
We are involved in this campaign because it is proven that four or more employer encounters can significantly improve the life choices and career chances for our young people.
An "employer encounter" is a chance for employers/employees to tell people about the world of work, how to access it and how to thrive in it. Ultimately, these interactions help individuals to help strengthen the link between education and employment, driving a more inclusive and productive Sheffield.
In a tight labour market, engagement with young people provides us with an opportunity to recruit and develop local talent and grow our brand profile, whilst raising the attainment, aspiration, and work-readiness of our young people.
The See It Be It campaign works with schools and colleges across the city of Sheffield to arrange meaningful employer encounters for young people.
Meaningful encounters with employers can take many forms including:
- Mock Interviews
- Careers talks
- Workplace visits
- Mentoring
- Skills workshops
