Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP) which is in Penge and surrounding areas, aims to serve as a vital community interest food initiative dedicated to providing benefits to persons from all walks of life such as:

- Low-income income families

- Single Parents

- Homeless individuals

- Individuals with disabilities and mental health

- Vulnerable Adults

- Students

- Elderly individuals

By producing our SMART bags filled with fresh surplus ingredients supplied by local supermarkets, local green grocers, butchers and other charities who supply surplus produce.

Our program is there to dedicate time to offer nutritious meal prep, cooking ideas along with participating in cooking classes, which can be done face to face or via zoom calls providing online support for those in need.

Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Programs (SSCKP) aim is to address food insecurities and social anxieties whilst focusing on the mental wellbeing of our attendees from the local community.

Our programs are there to empower individuals, along with helping those who would like to get back into the work force or training.

Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP) are here to help, by developing confidence building and integration back into the community whilst building connections on a path of holistic wellness orchestrated through food. We recognize that this is an ongoing journey of healing, letting go of stigmas which surround food poverty and mental health.

Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program has been set up to provide a safe space to alleviate:

1. Food Poverty within our local community.

2. Open awareness to mental health and food insecurities.

3. Foster better relationships with food, oneself and our community.

4. Collaborate and network with other local organisations.

5. Sourcing land or open spaces to grow fresh produce.

6. Introduce training providers and work placements to those looking to get back to work.

7. Premises where we can open a Pantry for local businesses to donate produce to the community. Such premises could come in the form of abandoned buildings, offices or shop fronts. We would also aim to seek funding in which we we could renovate the premises through an asset transfer.

8. Have a mobile kitchen which we can use to reach members of the public by running an outreach pathway to get individuals cooking from our mobile kitchen.

Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Programs objective, is to have a social impact within our community by harnessing and understanding food waste, food poverty and the promotion of mental wellbeing.

Our first mission is to allow members from all walks of life to join and attend Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP) to form better relations with their community peers and become more aware of food waste.

Understanding how surplus produce can alleviate the struggles of the cost-of-living crisis which many currently face.

By Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP) introducing the use of surplus fresh produce, we would like to see a reduction in buying processed foods which can work out very expensive and unhealthy being one of the major factors in the decline of poor diets, health, childhood & adult obesity and mental health within our society.
