Seaside Hospital Radio

Seaside Hospital Radio (Formerly: Radio Southlands) have been broadcasting since 1972, and provide a free radio service to the patients and staff of Worthing and Southlands hospitals, and is entirely staffed by volunteers. The radio service is available patients, visitors and staff across the hospitals WiFi network and also available to the wider community via the internet at www.seasidehr.com. It can be listened too on any Internet Radio, Smart Speaker, Smart Phone or Personal Computer.

Seaside Hospital Radio have a wide variety of patient focused programming which aims to provide a distraction to people in stressful situations. They also provide specialist programmes for those living with dementia, sleep disorders, and sight loss. The station aims to bring community events, though outside broadcasts, to people who are unable to attend events in person due to ill health or disability, helping to maintain their sense of belonging.                         

To further enhance the listener experience Seaside Hospital Radio maintain a dedicated website, request email address, Facebook and Twitter pages that all provide means for listener interactions. In addition all Seaside Hospital Radio volunteers receive extensive training in all aspects of Broadcast Radio, some going on to successful careers with the BBC and Commercial radio.
