Sea mills library is located in the heart of the Sea Mills community in north Bristol. It is an important local hub for the all who live within our community. Run by dedicated volunteers, this important space offers a warm welcome to all in the local community, all year round.
Historically, the library had roses and other flowers outside of the building, inviting all who came inside. The space is now a simple grass covered site. It could be so much more!
Our volunteers wish to create a new, welcoming community garden for the local community. We hope to create a wildflower pathway, offering vibrant colourful flowers, brimming with biodiversity. We also wish to create a community herb and vegetable garden, a place where volunteers can grow local produce available for the community to help themselves.
We are passionate about bringing life back to Sea Mills library garden and creating a space which welcomes all members of our community. In time we hope to offer activities and workshops dedicated to informing local children and their adults in the ways of bug house building and propagation of flowers and plants, encouraging a love of nature.
We hope to raise enough funds to get started on this exciting project. We will plant pathways of herbs and flowers, connecting this vibrant community.
Please help us to create this beautiful space into a wonderful community focused garden and encourage the new generation to thrive with nature.
Sea Mills and Coombe Dingle climate action group will be running the project and working closely with the Friends of Sea Mills Library group.
