The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of Scottish charities, which is going to make it very challenging for us to survive. Together you can help us.
Crowdfunder are offering up their platform to allow all UK small businesses & charities to pre-sell their goods etc. for cash now on a promise to redeem these at a later date.
Who are we?
Scottish Dobermann Rescue is a registered charity dedicated to helping dogs in need throughout the whole of Scotland. We are run entirely by volunteers and depend on the kind hearted donations from our amazing supporters. We provide necessary care and welfare to dobermanns and dobermann crosses who find themselves needing to be rescued or rehomed. Working alongside well known animal rescues and other charities we provide breed experience to those who need it. The dogs in our care are fully assessed before being rehomed to an environment that best suits their individual needs.
Our dogs:
We have three dogs currently in our care looking for their forever homes, two are in foster care and one is still in the kennels.
Indie is a fun loving youngster full of mischief who is looking for an active owner willing to put some time into teaching her the rights and wrongs of being a well mannered companion.
She's loving life in her foster home, sharing her space with two other dogs. She could possibly live with older teenage children but no small furry animals.
She's still under a year old so has not yet been spayed, she will go to her new home with a strict spaying contract to be carried out when she's old enough.
Zeus is 2 years old, neutered and originally imported into the UK from a country where cropping and docking is still carried out which gives him the classic stereotypical dobermann appearance. He's a very high energy boy who needs a lot of physical and mental stimulation. He is now settling well into his foster home awaiting further assessments to establish the best suitable forever home for his needs.
He's very loving towards people he knows, lovely lively character and full of that dobermann nonsense we've come to adore about the breed.
Anna is an absolute sweetheart with the person she trusts. She's had a rough few years, finding herself bounced around in various homes that were unsuitable for her needs. She was physically and mentally abused by a neighbour in a previous home and has been left with some atrocious looking scars along her side.
Despite what she's been through she has a lot of love to give the right person. She needs to be the only pet in an adult only household and suffers from separation anxiety so will need an owner who can commit to this and help her through her past traumas.
Why donate to us?
We are the only breed specific rescue based in Scotland. We cover the whole of the country through a network of dedicated volunteers. With your support we can continue to provide necessary care for dogs that need our help. All dogs that come through our rescue are given a full veterinary health check and are neutered/spayed when old enough, given any medical care that is needed and are vaccinated/wormed etc as and when required. We also rent kennel space for dogs coming into rescue before they're assessed for foster, the kennels take great care of the dogs and we provide food and enrichment through toys and chews to keep them as comfortable as possible. Assessments of the dogs is important for us to ensure the dogs are rehomed to the most suitable environment. All of these things cost the charity a significant amount of money and with the generous support from our follower we can continue to help future dobermanns in need. The rehoming fees for our dogs does help to cover the basic care of each dog but some require more help than others which makes fundraising so important to keep us going.
