The Housing Crisis has not happened overnight and it is the result of wrong strategies taken by the authorities for many years.
We are here now and this situation won’t get any better overnight and is only getting worse until long-term & adequate planning is in place to meet the housing demands.
In the short-term, the most vulnerable are paying the price for this situation & no government or authorities have brought an emergency measure to prevent the worsening of this crisis.
Scraping LHA (Local Housing Allowance) rate at least as a short-term can help households to remain in their homes and help those who are homeless or stuck in unsuitable homes to find new homes. Further, with the reform of benefit system & Universal Credit funded by DWP directly to claimant(s), the concept of "Local Housing Allowance" may no longer be relevant.
Please help to fund this campaign to bring it to the attention of authorities that actions needed now, tomorrow could be too late.
