Hi, I’m Paul, the creator behind Scouse Bandicoot, an animated noir-stoner comedy set in Liverpool. This project is a mix of my passion for quirky storytelling, animation, and the charm of the Liverpool landscape. After years of working in animation, I wanted to bring something fresh—something gritty, funny, and utterly unique—to life.
Scouse Bandicoot follows a paranoid bandicoot named Barry Aka Bando Barry as he runs a secret grow-op in his suburban Liverpool home. He’s juggling criminal schemes, strange neighbors, and, of course, his plant-based business. Think Breaking Bad meets Rick & Morty, but with more Liverpool flair and dry humor.
Why This Story?
I’ve always loved mixing dark comedy with offbeat characters. Liverpool has a rich history of grit and humor, and I wanted to capture that in an animated series with heart, humor, and a good dose of surrealism. This series isn’t just about crime; it’s about personal growth (literally and figuratively) and finding your place in a world where nothing is as it seems.
