Aim: An introspective journey told through multiple art forms, combining poetry, photography & an original soundtrack.

Drawing on personal experiences of growing up in areas surrounded by conflict, my writing deals with themes of personal identity and displacement, questioning the concept of home and exploring boundaries set by nationality and the struggle to move beyond them. As well as releasing my first collection of poems in 2020, I have been published in a number of magazines and anthologies in the UK and across the Middle East.

Scatter Me For The Birds will be my second self-published project. It is an introspective journey told through multiple art forms to create a cohesive story. Combining poetry, photography and an original soundtrack, this collection of work will speak to anyone who has dealt with loss and emotional upheaval.

We are increasingly aware of a collective need to process trauma. From individual events on a personal level, to largescale conflict across broader communities, these experiences not only exist in our history but to a larger extent, define it.

When delving into how lived and inherited trauma manifests in our present, it can change the relationship to our past. This invariably creates grief and a disjointed process of mourning. As we acknowledge all these scattered pieces within us, the aim is not to put them back together. Rather, the aim is to let them go so that whatever remains can reform to find new life.
