SCAP Summer Festival 2024

Seahorse Creative Arts & Publications needs your help to create our Summer Festival which will take place:-

  • National Piping Centre Saturday 31 August 2024, 12 - 5 pm

  • Impact Arts, Boardwalk, Sunday 1 September 2024, 12 -5 pm

We are looking to raise £2,500 to contribute towards us being able to put on a two-day SCAP Summer Festival in Glasgow at the end of August this year.

Any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference.

In the summer of 2023, we organised and hosted our first festival. To say the festival was a success would be an understatement, it was so much more than that.

The National Lottery funded the whole event, however, this year we did not get the funding due to the National Lottery being inundated with applications from other organisations.

Last year was pretty amazing to see people from all different walks of life coming together to share what SCAP participants had produced during the year and this is why the two-day festival needs to run again this year in The Scottish Piping Centre and Impact Arts venue.

On the Saturday we will host a plethora of free entertainment throughout the day and on the Sunday, we will host a series of free workshops with experienced tutors.

Since our inception in 2021, we have worked with members of the public and various community groups in Scotland. We have designed and delivered approximately two hundred workshops in Creative Writing, Art, Photography, Dance, and Choral singing, as well as hosting events where participants have had an opportunity to read their work.

We are a relatively new charity whose mission is to make the arts more accessible for everyone, particularly those who do not feel the arts are for them. The two-day festival is a celebration of this.

Please donate if you can.

Thank you.

Many thanks to SCAP for providing access to the arts for people who otherwise might not get it. A noble cause indeed.

SCAP does such wonderfully inclusive work with marginalised groups all year round, and the festival is a highlight, with a program that has something for everyone. All credit to SCAP trustees and volunteers!

SCAP welcomes people from all over the world. What a valuable way of encountering some of Scotland's current cultural glow.
