SCAP Flamenco Class

Aim: To raise funds to help finance a Flamenco Class

Due to the lack of funding, SCAP is not able to run its classes of Flamenco Dancing this year. This was a very popular class, with up to fifteen people participating on a weekly basis. The class brought together people from all walks of life who would not normally meet and friendships were made. We also brought together people from other cultural backgrounds in the community.

It is sorely missed. Flamenco was one of our most popular workshops, for a variety of reasons. Not only were people keeping fit, but their mental well-being improved and they were able to connect with others in a shared fun activity.

We are a relatively new charity whose mission is to make the arts more accessible for everyone. We work with members of the public and various community groups in Scotland. In the summer of 2023 and 2024 we organised and hosted a SCAP festival in The Scottish Piping Centre and Impact Arts venue. To say the Festival was a success would be an understatement, it was so much more than that. Saturday was our showing what we had been doing and there was a plethora of free entertainment throughout the day,  on Sunday we hosted no less than twelve free workshops with experienced tutors. It was pretty amazing to see people from all different walks of life coming together to share what SCAP had produced that year. 

The Flamenco Show at the festivals was the highlight both years.
