We are the Lochinver Pre School Centre Association (registered charity SC003705) and we are made up by the parents of the children attending Lochinver Pre School. We are raising funds in order to complete renovations and alterations necessary to register the provision under the Highland Council to safe guard the future of early years provision in Assynt. Anything that you can donate would be hugely appreciated.
After a recent inspection by the care inspectorate, a number of issues have been highlighted as needing upgrading to allow the service to continue. Our aim is to raise the funds necessary to allow the works to be completed in time for the children of Assynt to be able to attend nursery for the beginning of the next academic year, in August. We have a team of enthusiastic contractors ready to start the work over the summer holidays. We have received an initial estimated quote of £30,000 to complete the necessary works.
The current cohort of children attending the pre-school missed out on crucial socialisation due to being "Covid babies", meaning that baby groups and meet ups were unable to occur whilst the world was in lock down. This means that the children were socially disadvantaged and so it is vital that there are no further delays or interruptions to their pre-school education. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Historically we have held bake sales/dances etc to raise funds, however due to the time constraints to have the pre-school building ready for starting the new term in August we need to raise the necessary funds as quickly as possible. We appreciate that times are tough for everyone, and so if you are not in a position to donate then please spread the word of our cause if possible.
Many thanks,
Lochinver Pre-School association
