Please help us to save the historic buildings of Wye College by contributing to fund the forthcoming Public Inquiry

by Wye College Regeneration Group in Wye, England, United Kingdom

As a result of two years of campaigning, the proposed housing development is now subject to a Public Inquiry, where WyeCRAG will make representations on behalf of the local community and college alumni, and all who value our heritage.

We have set up a fighting fund to finance this battle.

This is a onetime opportunity to save the historic Grade I listed buildings of Wye College, and alter the course of this development.

After five centuries as an integral part of village life, the historic Grade I listed buildings of Wye College are in imminent danger of being converted into an exclusive housing development.

Wye College was established in 1447 by Cardinal John Kempe, and is positioned at the very heart of the village of Wye, near Canterbury, Kent, England.

The Wye College Regeneration Group (WyeCRAG) - an active team of village residents, college alumni and conservation specialists was formed in 2018 to resist plans to convert the oldest part of the college into a villa and four luxury apartments.

In contrast, WyeCRAG proposes to regenerate these Medieval and Jacobean buildings as a Cultural & Community Centre, retaining a significant national heritage asset for the benefit of the community and the wider public.

We need your support to help us to accomplish these plans!
