Many residents of Towcester and the surrounding villages are horrified at the prospect of a 24/7 high bay logistics park built on around Towcester by IM properties and DHL. Their warehouses will cover one million square feet and be up to 30m in height, which will be even taller in reality after the land levels are raised. There are similar proposals by IM Properties at Tiffield Lane, and Podium Park at Whittlebury/Silverstone.
These developments will create unsustainable levels of traffic congestion on the A5/A43, Tove roundabout and Towcester centre, with neighbouring villages used as rat runs.
In addition they will lead to chronic light and noise pollution with significantly reduced air quality and increased risk of flooding.
The best and most effective way for us to argue our case is to come together and all contribute to fund professional advice and representation. That level of expertise can ensure that WNC only agree to a proposal which delivers a sustainable and appropriate development for Towcester.
