Aim: We would like to save the Wooler Post Office and provide an affordable home for a local family
The closure of the Post office would have a massive detrimental effect on the community of Wooler and wider Glendale and would badly affect the local businesses who rely on the services the Post Office provides.
The nearest bank is 18 miles away in either Berwick or Alnwick and with an ageing demographic many people rely on the services of the Post office for many aspects of their daily lives.
The mobile bank was withdrawn several months ago resulting in further reliance on the Post office for banking facilities.
We need funds to purchase the property to allow a new Post Master from a neighbouring local village to take over the service and to purchase the first floor residential apartment to provide affordable accommodation for a local family.
