My name is Soraya,
I am a mother to 3 beautiful children and a senior qualified nurse. I work between 45-63 hours a week as well as care for my children full time. I am also an award winner for 'Entrepreneur of the Year 2023' for the VOG business awards.
In 2020 I sold my home and founded 'Soraya's Cocktails and Dessert LTD'. This was to be the stepping stone to my dream of owning a global franchise of drive thru dessert restaurants. I created the restaurant with the goal of making a lot of money, but I soon created a community safe space instead. That's when I quickly realised my love for bringing people together far outweighed my love for making money. My role is not just the owner, I do the dessert making, advertising, rotas, admin, stock shop, event planning, host all parties, social media replies, accounts, serve, cleaner and I do the building maintenance ( I even laid the wooder flooring).
I was brought up in foster care and moved multiple times so living out of a suitcases become custom to me. Meeting new people and building new families were a regular thing from a toddler age. I just love people!
My dream is to build a chain of drive thru dessert restaurants (similar to McDonald's but dessert version). I have taken every risk and suffered many losses to get this far so I am nowhere near giving up now.
Very often when we are out, for example on a family trip, before we head home we would like a treat but there is nowhere to go to treat the whole family without having to park up and walk in to a place. Now what if one of the kids were sleeping or it was raining etc? If there was a drive thru dessert restaurant which sold coffees, soft drinks, crazy shakes, loaded donuts, cookie dough pie slices, waffles, crepes and our famous cheesecakes then the whole family would be happy!
I want to travel the world and build them everywhere, travelling regularly to keep them all running smoothly. As someone who suffers with ADHD and a need to succeed I have no worries about being overworked, sleep deprived or wanting a social life. My life is work.
