💔 Why We Need Your Help

Liberty Tea Rooms & Community Hub is more than just a place to grab a cuppa—it's a lifeline for many in Hemel Hempstead. But right now, we’re facing an urgent financial crisis. Due to the ongoing economic climate and a sharp decline in town centre footfall, our income has dropped dramatically. Without immediate support, we may be forced to close our doors.

We’re seeking to raise £40,000 to keep Liberty Tea Rooms running and continue the vital work we do for our community.

🌱 What We Do

Liberty Tea Rooms is a not-for-profit charity that exists to serve and support the people of Hemel Hempstead. Here’s how we make a difference:

• 💸 Debt Support: Our debt centre has helped 217 families clear over £3.1 million in debt—preventing homelessness and, in some cases, saving lives.
• 🫶 Crisis Support: We’re a safe space for anyone in emotional or financial crisis, offering a listening ear and practical help when it’s needed most.
• 🧩 Community Hub: We provide a warm, welcoming environment where people can connect, feel valued, and find a sense of belonging.
• 🎓 Training & Inclusion: We offer work experience and training for young people with learning disabilities, in partnership with local support services.

“Liberty Tea Rooms was born out of tragedy, when someone we were supporting took their own life. Since then, we’ve become a place of hope and healing for so many. But now, we need your help to keep going.”
