Fightstar School of Pro Wrestling was formed in 2017 by head trainer James 'Jay Knox' Riley with a dream to teach the discipline of professional wrestling in Dorset, as the closest other facilities were based in Portsmouth at this time.
Since then Fightstar has grown into a community collective based around the love of the sport and a hub for wrestling fans around the county. We host wrestling and fitness classes at our school as well as live wrestling events and social gatherings / screenings around Dorset.
Since opening we have coached over 30 students and have hosted well over 20 events to 100s of the local community.
In 2020 we were forced to leave our training location due to Covid-19 concerns from the landlord. We made the decision as a collective to open our own gym which came into fruition in late 2020. The current Covid-19 guidance at this time was a return to normality from early 2021. Since then the pandemic has gotten worse and we have rent liabilities and no income to pay them.
Our students have kindly donated all they can to keep the gym in business and sadly we were not eligible for other government help.
