"Sanctuary" is a short film that delves into the complex and often misunderstood world of mental health through the eyes of a young woman named Ivy. The screenplay is situated within the coming-of-age genre, a genre known for its exploration of themes such as identity, self-discovery and the struggle to find one's place in the world. The film addresses the increasing prevalence of mental health issues among young people in contemporary society, and aims to raise awareness and promote empathy and understanding towards individuals living with mental health issues, by providing a unique perspective on the struggles they face. This is particularly relevant in today's society, as mental health issues among young people have become increasingly prevalent. The film also provides a unique perspective on the struggles they face, and aims to provide a relatable and authentic portrayal of Ivy's experiences.
