Providing surf lifesaving based activity for the local community. To bring together the local community to have fun and learn respect for the water and the surrounding environment. We have trained hundreds of children from the local community and continue our schools and local community groups programme to raise awareness of safety on our coastline.

Saltdean Swim & Surf Club
Saltdean Swim & Surf Club was set up in 2021 during the pandemic but has grown ever since.
We are a local charity run by local volunteers to help the community feel safe in the Sea whilst having fun.
The popular Saltdean Beach is used by local people from the surrounding area of close to 20,000 residents of all ages and abilities. Saltdean Swim & Surf Club want to ensure that anyone making use of the sea has awareness of the sea.
Whether you attend a Surf lifesaving taster session in the sea or pool, or decide to become a regular member of the Club there is a pathway for everyone. A competitive pathway, a graduate lifeguard pathway to obtain the beach lifeguard qualification or simply a social wellbeing pathway.
What we bring to the Community!
Saltdean Swim & Surf Club bring the beach alive when sessions are being run.
The Clubs activities are an exhibition of laughter and fun whilst teaching participants to feel confident and safe in the water.
Sessions run at the weekend and in the evenings from Spring and run as late into the Autumn as the weather allows.
No one is exempt from being involved in Saltdean Swim & Surf Club and we welcome everyone. We have a commitment to ensuring anyone with a disability will get in the water safely with the right equipment and supervision. We also have funding ringfenced to ensure cost is not a barrier for anyone wanting to join.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are Crowdfunding to purchase to equipment needed to keep up with the demand of the community.
In the Spring of 2023, we will launch our most ambitious offering to date. We aim to provide activity for those 8 years old - 99 years old on weekend mornings and midweek sessions.
To do this we need to raise more funds to purchase 15 new surf rescue boards, 6 more rescue tubes as well as safety equipment.
We have recruited volunteers who all need to obtain qualifications to run sessions safely in the sea. The courses will cost money too.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised will be spend immediately on the equipment needed to run the 2023 season.
