A virtual collective run to fundraise for displaced members of the LGBTQI+ community in Lebanon and Palestine.
by Queer Running Club in London, Greater London, United Kingdom
We're Queer Running Club, we are a collective of queer and trans identifying runners. We regularly fundraise for members of our community both in the UK and further away. As part of our support for those experiencing the ongoing genocide in Lebanon and Palestine and to mark the one year anniversary of the humanitarian crisis, in the the next 2 weeks - 14 days - we will be running the distance from London to Beirut. From 12th October - 26th October - INCLUSIVELY.
That's right, together we will collectively run:
4452 KM
Please help us help others. We believe in the power of radical collectivism and are raising vital funds for this urgent humanitarian crisis in the Middle East.
Who we are fundraising for;
Lebanon Emergency Shelter and Humanitarian Relief: a queer activist from Beirut, raising emergency funds for extremely vulnerable members of the queer community in Lebanon.
Voices of the Unseen: the grassroots emergency response coalition for Lebanon. The Community Coalition brings together a number of trusted civil society organisations, activists and community initiatives.
Queer Mutual Aid Lebanon: a grassroots group of queer/trans people in Lebanon working to secure temporary shelter and assist with medical needs.
How it will work;
Our members will send over their kilometres to our WhatsApp group daily, we will add them all up and make a collective attempt to run the full distance. Can we do it? You better believe it. Do you want to get involved? DM us on @queer_running_club
