Terms & Conditions

  • The prize draw is open to all UK residents [aged 18 years or over], except employees of RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with the administration of the prize draw. Proof of age may be requested. 
  • Each £2 donation will act as an entry into the prize draw. You can purchase ticket bundles for a greater chance to win the prize as many times as you’d like. Each ticket equals one chance to win.
  • The prize draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. You can also enter this draw for free, without pledging, by sending a stamped and addressed envelope with your name, address and contact telephone number to: RSPB Lochwinnoch, Largs Road, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, PA12 4JF. One envelope counts for one entry. Postal entries must be received prior to the closure of the prize draw at 23:59 on Sunday 29 May 2022 to be entered.  
  • The prize draw will open to the public at 00:01 on Saturday 30 April 2022 and close at 23:59 on Sunday 29 May 2022 and the winners will be randomly selected through a draw performed by a computer process on Monday 30 May 2022. Entries received after this time will not be valid.  
  • The RSPB accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
  • The first entrant drawn will be offered the first prize. A second entrant will then be drawn and will be offered the second prize. The third entrant drawn will be offered the third prize, the fourth entrant drawn the fourth prize and the fifth entrant drawn the fifth prize.
  • The first prize winner will be offered a choice between:
    •  A pair of RSPB Avocet Binoculars with options for 8x32, 10x32 or 10x42 models
      • or
    • A guided walk for up to 4 people at RSPB Lochwinnoch including lunch
      • Lunch will consist of a choice of sandwiches from a predetermined list, a hot beverage and a bag of crisps
      • RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch will try their best to ensure that any dietary requirements are accounted for where reasonably possible but cannot guarantee this
  • If the prize selected is the guided walk, then this will be organised to take place on a suitable date and time to be decided between RSPB Lochwinnoch Scotland and the prize winner
  • The guided walk will take place around the RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch nature reserve, so we recommend that comfortable footwear and appropriate clothing is worn.
  • Fulfilment of this prize will be subject to any UK Government restrictions regarding Covid-19 in force at the relevant time.
  • RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch will do their upmost to arrange a date and time suitable to the winner and RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch, subject to staff availability
  • The option for the guided walk will be valid until Sunday 31 July 2022.
    • If a mutually agreed date and time cannot be agreed prior to this date, then the first place prize will revert to the alternative option of a pair of RSPB Avocet Binoculars
  • Second prize is a signed print by Sir Peter Scott named ‘Only Sixteen Geese Left The Shore That Morning’ 
  • Third prize is a bird care starter kit compromising of a selection of three RSPB bird feeders and associated bird food with an overall value up to, but not exceeding £40
  • Fourth prize is a hamper of Fairtrade goods including chocolates and coffee from the RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch shop up to a value of, but not exceeding £20
  • Fifth prize will be a variety bundle of fifteen RSPB pin badges
  • Any winners (and if the option for a guided walk is selected, their guests included) agree to take part in any reasonable post-prize draw publicity with RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch if required.
  • Prizes are as stated in the description. There is no cash alternative and the elements of the prize cannot be sold or transferred by the winner in any circumstances. For the avoidance of doubt, unless specified above, no other costs or expenses will be covered by RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch.
  • Prizes are subject to change. Descriptions of the prizes are provided without a warranty of any kind. In no event shall RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch be liable for any claim demand or damages caused to an entrant by reason of a description of the prize being inaccurate, incomplete, or for the prize being otherwise in any way different to the entrant’s expectations. RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch reserve the right to disqualify any entries that breach these rules, are in any way fraudulent or (in RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch’s reasonable opinion) will bring themselves, RSPB, RSPB Scotland or RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch into disrepute. RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch reserve the right to cancel the prize draw at any stage, if deemed necessary in their opinion, or if circumstances arise outside their control. The winner will be announced on RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch social media as well as potentially other RSPB websites or social media channels and contacted via email. The winner will be notified by email (using details provided at entry) before 23:59 on Tuesday 31 May and must provide a postal address to claim their prize or alternatively, collect their prize in person at RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch nature reserve, PA12 4JF. If a winner does not respond to the RSPB within [21] days of being notified by the RSPB, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and the RSPB will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  • The decision of the RSPB regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. 
  • The RSPB reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of the Rules or the Terms and Conditions or the spirit of the Rules or the Terms and Conditions.


Terms and Conditions

  •  By submitting your entry to the RSPB, you agree to be legally bound by the Rules and these Terms and Conditions. 
  • The RSPB reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so. 
  • Insofar as is permitted by law, the RSPB, its subsidiaries, agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the RSPB, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  • You agree to indemnify the RSPB and its subsidiaries against any claim from any third party for any breach of these terms and conditions. The RSPB reserves the right to update the Rules and these Terms and Conditions from time to time and any updated version will be effective as soon as it is published on Crowdfunder.
  • Winners may be required to participate in publicity related to the prize draw which may include the publication of their name and photograph in any media. You agree that your personal data may be used for this purpose. The RSPB takes your data very seriously; we will only use your personal data in accordance with the terms of the RSPB's Privacy Policy. Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion may be passed on to third party suppliers only insofar as required for fulfilment/delivery/arrangement of the prize.
