This year has been difficult for everyone – you won’t have been able to visit your favourites places or see your favourite people and everything, it seems, has changed.
As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations for the first community dig at Norton Prioryin 1971, we want to mark this very strange year and create a space of hope for you. You’ve told us how much you love our Walled Garden and, like most of us, it’s had a tough year. With your help, we’d like to do this by rejuvenating the Rose Walk down the middle of the Walled Garden.
We'll be planting over 230 roses using over 40 varieties of roses, including hybrid tea, floribunda, shrub and climbing roses.
We want to create a special place for you where you can reflect and enjoy a moment of peace alone or with loved ones. There will be a rainbow of roses with an array of scents and gorgeous lavender and spring flowers to ensure beauty all the way from April to October.
In order to do this, we need to raise at least £18,000 to help us dig up, replant and purchase the flowers and materials needed. We are aiming for this to be ready for you to enjoy in Spring 2021. It's £71 to sponsor a rose; this is a nod to 1971 and also includes the amount to purchase, plant and care for a rose over the course of 20 years. If you're looking for something even more special, you could choose to sponsor a bench for £1,500 with your very own personalised message. This includes the amount to purchase, install and care for the bench for the next 20 years.
You can read about this project on our website. Following your gift, we'll be in touch with you.
Any gift you can give makes a huge difference to helping us create an oasis of beauty and peace for you and for everyone.
If you’d like to discuss your gift, or would like further information, we would love to hear from you; please email Ottilie Scanlon on [email protected]
