REDEEMING OUR COMMUNITIES

RCN 1139817, Blackpool

People of goodwill working together for safer, kinder communities. We bring lasting change to communities across the UK by inspiring, enabling and supporting multi-agency partnership initiatives between third sector groups, statutory agencies, churches, community groups and local people. We deliver dynamic projects that are innovative, cost-effective, volunteer-led and sustainable.

ROC Garden aims to achieve 3 huge goals:

  • 1. Empower unemployed people back into employment
    • ROC Garden Academy
  • 2. Support residents with overgrown gardens they can no longer manage
    • ROC Garden Transformations
  • 3. Create sustainability, employment opportunities and a social enterprise to benefit the community
    • ROC Garden Services

Over the last 5 years alone, we have supported close to 100 people back into paid employment or further education through our ROC Garden Academy programme. The stories of changed lives is what we are all about, and the difference we have seen is the real transformation about our project.

We have transformed more than 250 gardens that were causing the residents to be on the brink of losing their properties due to their overgrown gardens being a breach of their tenancy agreement. We have not only helped to rescue 250 families from eviction, but we have also invested in each one of them personally by coming along side them in the process and going the extra mile to ensure their gardens don't become like this again.

We have supported more than 400 regular customers through ROC Garden Services in the Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, and Preston areas. We have grown our team and been able to provide employment for 25 different staff members, with many moving on into other work places after building their skills and confidence as a garden as part of our incredible team.

We currently have ROC Garden teams operating in Blackpool, Preston and Bradford, with the potential to open new sites in the future!

We need your help now more than ever!

With the rising costs of living, it is putting strain on more and more households in deprived areas. It is causing many of our own costs to increase, which unfortunately then puts pressure on those we so desperately need to help.

Your donations will go towards helping us transform gardens to transform lives.

A one off donation of:

  • £10 will help cover the cost of fuel for our power tools for one of our teams for a week
  • £50 will help cover the cost of brand new PPE for a new, upcoming volunteer
  • £125 will help cover the cost of taking away a full trailer of green waste from a garden we transform
  • £500 will help cover the cost of a full garden transformation, including staff supervision and experience, labour, upkeep of tools and equipment, PPE, consumables, transport, admin, and overheads associated with our work.

We are look for individuals and businesses to partner with us to help us achieve far more than we can see and imagine right now!

Almost everyone has a garden, and a garden is like a gateway to help transform a persons life; transforming the lives of each volunteer and resident we come into contact with.

Our project has so much potential. We hope you see it too :)

Please support us and help us transform gardens to transform lives.
