Hi! I'm Robin, a director of The Patch in Potterne Ltd. To mark my 70th birthday, I'm running in aid of a regeneration project to breathe new life into the former village school. We will turn it into a vibrant hub that mixes community and commercial activity - business, social, cultural and well-being.
The market value of the building is £300K, however, as a community asset the unique opportunity exists to purchase it for just £120K. What's more, a generous donor has offered to match my running target, pound for pound, so my £3K target could be worth £6K!
The refurbished building will be available to all ages for practical skills, physical and mental awareness, creative learning and development. It will complement, rather than compete with, existing village facilities.
Once completed, users will be able to enjoy facilities such as:
- Community tearoom
- Free cooking classes and meals for vulnerable children
- Display space for art, local history and archives
- Conference and workshop facilites
- Wi-Fi broadband and IT classes
- Performance space for auditions, music and dance
Our team have already raised gifts and pledges of £80K, so please support my run to edge closer to our goal! Any sum, large or small, would be hugely appreciated and matched £1 for £1 by a generous sponsor.
THANK YOU
Robin Jequier
