We're all human, yet around the world we see minority groups being discriminated, demonised, dehumanised, their rights eroded, paving the way to mass atrocities. This isn't a new story. It's predictable. It's also preventable. At Rights for Peace we use human rights training and advocacy to counter identity-based violence and support transitional justice. We operate in Sudan and South Sudan.

At Rights for Peace we work to strengthen the rights and resilience of local communities to prevent identity-based violence.
Violent extremism based on identity is increasing globally. Strong democratic institutions can help protect human rights in the face of increased hate. However, in fragile states, identity-based divisions can translate into cycles of violence.
We run unique training programmes to help leaders address hate and promote social cohesion and justice, we support front line projects and we advocate for legal and policy changes to prevent recurrence.
Here is what leaders in Darfur said about our programme:
- "This workshop taught us how to talk about taboos and unspeakable issues in our communities.”
- “The analysis of hate speech is very good, very helpful. We understood it and now we are planning for action.”
