Walk the world

We support a really worthwhile charity called ‘Cool Earth’, whose aim is to protect the world’s rainforests. That’s important because those rainforests balance the whole world’s climate as well as protecting endangered wild life.

So this year, as a way of fundraising for Cool Earth – and to fire the imagination of the children in our care as well – our year of ‘Positive Change’ will centre on ‘Walking the World’.

Let me explain. The circumference of the world is just short of 25,000 miles. We reckon that, if all our children, their parents and guardians, and all of us who work at Ridgemount too – were to take part in sponsored ‘Walking the World’ walks throughout the year, the distance that we each cover could add up to that awesome figure.
