RH Fibreboard Ltd as an integral part of the Goonvean Group have come together to support Children’s Hospice South West.
The charity provides for three children's hospices across the South West: Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Charlton Farm in North Somerset, and Little Harbour in St Austell.
These hospices care for children from the point of diagnosis, and give support to their families throughout their journey. Their purpose is to make the most of short and precious lives, with the children and their families at the centre of all they do.
Giving back beyond the South West
Owing to the positioning of the majority of our business locations, the Goonvean Group is uniquely situated to support Children's Hospice South West.
However, our community extends far beyond the South West. Dura-ID Solutions, a valuable part of our group, has a much wider spread of operational sites across the country. We have also identified a hospice charity close to their hearts to which a proportion of the funds raised will go - Rotherham Hospice.
Coming together as a community
This effort will involve every valued member of the Goonvean Group, which consists of:
- North Devon Electronics Ltd
- Dura-ID Solutions Ltd.
- Foundry and Fabrication Totnes Ltd.
- Goonvean Aggregates Ltd.
- Goonvean Fibres Ltd.
- Goonvean Holdings Ltd.
- RH Fibreboard Ltd.
- YPH Waste Management Ltd.
And how are we going to do it?
Here’s where the fun begins – we’re going to walk, run, bake, bike, and do whatever it takes to reach our fundraising goals. From office-based Bake Off challenges, to mountaineering endeavours, there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved and do something fun or challenging for these wonderful causes.

3 Peaks Challenge
The first event planned by the GVG is the 3 peaks challenge - on the 22nd June - which consists of climbing the below mountains in 24 hours:
Ben Nevis - 10.5 mile route, 1352 metre ascent
Scafell Pike - 6 mile route, 989 metres ascent
Snowdon - 7 mile route, 723 metre ascent
This 24hr+ event will test both mind and body for team members of RH Fibreboard who have volunteered:
Our lovely Office Manager - Angela Babington - and our fabulous Senior Sales Coordinator - Rachel Pearce - have stepped up to the plate to raise money for a worthy cause!
Angela was apprehensive about taking on such a huge challenge after having a hip replacement 2 years ago; however she wanted to prove to herself and her 2 granddaughters that you can achieve in life anything if you put your mind to it.
Here she is having walked up Pen Y Fan as part of her training.
And Rachel, walking on the Blackdown Hills.
Rachel has previously taken on some epic fitness challenges for charity but climbing not only one, but three mountains is a brand new one for her! She’s really looking forward to smashing through the mental and physical challenge that the 3 peaks will pose and raising money for such a great charity. Rachel will be pushing herself to complete this challenge in less than 24 hours.
