The Friends of Barton Parks would like to replace the name plates of the fallen that are missing from the memorial trees
Friends of Barton Parks, formally Friends of Baysgarth Park, formed in 2016 as a volunteer group wishing to improve the main park in Barton upon Humber. Since inception the group has worked in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council to raise funds for a perimeter footpath which is DDA compliant making the park accessible for all in all weathers. We have installed a green gym, created the Chad Varah contemplation garden with the local branch of the Samaritans, installed recycling bins and new benches, planted bulbs, developed new flower beds and been awarded Green Flag status 6 years in a row. Baysgarth Park has transformed from a tired, vandalised, poorly used facility to a vibrant, busy space loved and used by all of the community.
This appeal is to raise funds to replace two oak trees that form part of the memorial to 17 Barton men who were killed on the same day in World War One.
