We're still collecting donations
On the 23rd June 2024 we'd raised £11,312 with 48 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
After 3 serious floods during winter 2023/4 we need to repair our practice nets, used by all senior, junior, and ladies cricket players

Our club is not for profit and reinvests any funds, from operations, sponsorship and all other sources, into improving the recreational facilities for all to enjoy. We do not pay players and are entirely run by volunteers. Any additional funding this campaign realises will be reinvested in training equipment and facilities improvement for all in the community to enjoy
Belper Meadows CC is proud to be a community focused cricket club, founded in 1880, and since then our facilities have been used all year round to support local sport and recreational activities.
As a club we have worked tirelessly to develop our ground and its facilities to a high standard and in 2024 we have acceded to the Derbyshire Premier League for the first time in our history.
But, this Winter we have suffered devastating flood damage to our ground as on 3 separate occasions the playing & practice area have been flooded.
As in previous occurrences, we now have to cover the costs of repairing and renovating our practice facilities.
Cricket nets are expensive to install & maintain, the base & carpets need to be in perfect condition to be safe for our young and older players, male and female, to use. It takes a specialist to carry out repairs and multiple tests to make sure the surface meets all the safety standards set by the ECB and we estimate the cost of repair to be around £10,000. If this is not possible replacing the nets would cost more than £40,000, which in time we will need to fund. Both these sums are money we simply do not have.
As we are located in a flood plain, and the 100 year storms occur all too frequently we are not able to include flood-related risks in our insurance cover.
So, the club is reaching out to the local community to help to repair our practice facilities in time for the 2024 season.
We hope you can help us in this time of need and we truly appreciate any support that we receive 🙏
