New stretch target
If I were lucky to get the extra funding, then I'd invest in some new glazes, some slump moulds and bisqueware to provide you with some gorgeous new homeware pieces.
When re-locating north this year, Betty my trusty old kiln didn't make it & broke. My project is to replace her so I can be creative again.

Periwinkle and Clay started back in 2012 when I created the first photo on clay tile piece for my sister. Back then I used air-dried clay before taking the leap and purchasing Betty the kiln. She's been a great workhorse, but sadly with relocating up north this year, when we tried to move her, she broke and her bottom fell away completely... it turns out she was rusted through :( She has gone off to another potter for a new life as a Raku kiln. New replacement Betty's are available in November so I've created this project as a little bit of fun to include my lovely customers in replacing Betty before Christmas. I have so many ideas of things I'd like to make next year... although first off we will need to increase tile production.
I purchased a smaller test kiln called Wilf to replace Betty to allow us to keep making our wonderful tiles and firing them - but he is just too small and we're struggling to fire everything we need to keep up with our customers' lovely orders.
I'd like to buy a replacement Betty for the new studio up in Macclesfield so that we can continue to make and fire our tiles and also come up with some lovely new ceramic pieces in 2021. I really miss Betty and just having Wilf isn't going to be enough to keep us going moving forward.
Any money invested and raised will go towards buying a new Kiln - approx £1400. I'd also like to invest in a slab roller to help make the wonderful flat tiles and decorations and if we reach the target, it would be great to introduce some new pieces, glazes, moulds and bisque ware.
I'd love to get making and firing some more decorations and handmade pieces like I did a few years back.
Be pledging towards one of the project rewards, not only are you being involved in this project and following its development, you have my eternal thanks and you also get to have your own Periwinkle and Clay pieces up. Think of it as a paying it forward type campaign where you get something very lovely in the post in January.
I really hope you'll take part and I'm very excited to have you involved with this crowdfunded project.
Thanks, Claire x
