Release Mates is a vibrant group of prison leavers who have rehabilitated to now offer hope and support to others as they leave prison. Managing Departure Lounges and offering a full day of release package, the team offer a lived experience solution to reducing reoffending which costs the UK taxpayer £18 billion a year.

Formed in 2022 by prison leaver, David Dunn, Release Mates provides person-centred support to people leaving prison.
Many people are released from prison with genuine intentions to make positive change. Often their goals are thwarted by a system which is well documented as failing. Homeless, no clothes, money, or food, many face extreme hardship.
Release Mates gives practical and emotional support from a team of people who have been to prison and successfully rehabilitated.
The charity relies solely on grants and the generosity of donors to fulfil its ambition to create safer communities with fewer victims.
