Aim: Show your support for Reigate Summer Festival by helping to fund this fantastic community event for years to come.
Reigate Summer Festival has just taken place for the second year, with a weekend long midsummer party in the centre of our creative town. It provided a unique platform for all the local arts, wall-to-wall entertainment for the community, with something for everyone, and it broought valuable footfall into the town, benefitting many local businesses.
The entertainment and engagement comprised live music, drama, dance, film, literature, poetry, art, comedy, cultural history and a range of interactive workshops, all of which proved very popular.
Everything except the comedy and workshops was free, thanks to some generous grants and sponsorships, and the good will of many talented artists performing for nothing but the buzz. The first two years have been enabled by funding from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. That money is unlikely to be available next year, so we want to make the event sustainable by inviting the community to contribute. This is a community event, run by local volunteers for the benefit of our community. It's brilliant – and we want it to grow year after year.
