Aim: Help fund additional hours for our Support Delivery Team providing vital support for people who have experienced slavery and exploitation.
Give the gift of hope and and help fund additional hours for our Support Delivery Team so that they can provide vital practical and emotional support to individuals in Derby and Derbyshire who have experienced slavery and exploitation.
The demand for our support is greater than ever. Currently Rebuild does not have the resource to support all individuals in Derby who have experienced slavery and exploitation.
Your donation can help give hope to people like Ola* who are desperately trying to recover from the trauma and impact of the exploitation they have faced.
Ola and her partner were recently granted permission to remain in the UK entitling them to access benefits and social housing, but struggled to navigate the system and understand letters and emails due to their limited English. One of the letters was an eviction notice from their asylum accommodation, requiring them to move out in seven days time.
With this alarming deadline and nowhere to go, Rebuild helped Ola and her partner through the process advocating on their behalf and accessing an interpreter so that they were informed to make their own decisions about the future, ensuring they were able to receive the support they were entitled to and that they were never homeless.
Ola says: ‘My Rebuild Support Worker was very patient by my side when we were most helpless, encouraged me, always supported us, helping us to solve many, many difficulties. My partner and I are very grateful to Rebuild East Midlands.’

How your donation helps
Our Support Delivery Workers provide in-depth, holistic, person-centred support which empowers individuals to build a new life free from slavery.
£20 could help pay for a session of ongoing one-to-one support for a person who has experienced modern slavery, assisting them to secure safe accommodation, education, employment or health care.
This time could make a massive difference to someone who is living in uncertainty, often without a permanent home, on low income, in perilous situations seeking asylum, unable to feel at peace.
Money raised from the Rebuild Winter Appeal will help provide an additional two days a week of one-to-one support over a 12 month period, so that by next Christmas more individuals in need will have benefited from guidance, care and assistance to rebuild their lives.
