Aim: We are an organisation based in Cardiff refurbishing old laptops and giving them to school students who don’t have them.
Our story starts at the beginning of the first COVID-19 lockdown, when we received an old, slow acer laptop. We wiped it and installed RaspberryPiOS onto it, which made it run much faster. At the same time, schools across the country were moving to online learning.
The shocking statistic that, in some areas, more than 60% of children don’t have access to a laptop is why Re3 was born. Why not reboot, restore and repurpose old laptops for those that don’t have them.
